This project focused on computationally investigating how glycosaminoglycans mediate the maturation process of procathepsins. The goal was to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying GAG-mediated activation of these protease zymogens at the atomic level.
The project aimed to understand how GAGs interact with procathepsins, specifically investigating the hypothesis that GAGs can facilitate the structural rearrangements necessary for procathepsin maturation through specific binding interactions.
